We were here for the Com Ga, Vietnamese style Hainan chicken. It was pretty good judging from the standard in North America. But we have had better. The Banh Xeo was a big surprise! It was so huge and cooked to perfection with fresh ingredients. It was so yummy and refreshing paired with all those leafy vegetables. A must try!

I asked my cousin of places that served Banh Xeo and she told me about this place. I really like that they have a variety of chicken dishes. Seating can be a challenge as they get packed fairly quickly. Parking is tough sometimes but you're able to squeeze in somewhere. The Banh Xeo and Goi Ga are my favorites so far. Looking forward to trying other dishes the next time I go.

Vietnamese chicken and rice shop situated on Bellaire next to Hong Kong city mall in Chinatown in a standalone building with ample parking. First time here and came around 1pm. Place was pretty packed but service was quick and prompt. Ordered the chicken and rice with the salad that was also accompanied with a soup with chicken innards. Pretty hardy meal at that price point and would definitely visit again.

My first time here and the experience was amazing. Their Com Ga Dac Biet was so tasty. You could tell by the first bite, they use high quality chicken. The rice was perfectly cooked with the chicken broth. The side broth is smooth, clear, and tasty. The salad was fresh and balanced. Service was friendly as well. It’s the Best chicken rice dish I have so far in Houston right now.

I have eaten at the Cơm Gà Houston restaurant in Texas a few times in the past at an old location. They moved the restaurant to a new location, so my friend and I wanted to eat Cơm Gà at this new location. Their Cơm Gà was very tasty. I liked their rice because it had a coconut flavor. I also enjoyed their mixed fish sauce with chili, red pepper, and garlic. The service was very quick and efficient. The restaurant's atmosphere is alright. The restaurant's decoration is very simple.

one of the best places for cơm hà hải nam (aka hainanese chicken). though their noodle soup isn't exceptional, their chicken congee is amazing. also, their salad (which you can choose to be of cabbage, banana flower, or mixed) is delicious. my favorite however is their chicken with their sauce. the sweet flavor mixed with the tender chicken is absolutely pawfectt. my only criticism would be their menu. it is excessively long and instead of offering options as "options," they offer each and every option as a separate menu item. but in the end, their chicken is superb! chicken congee (7.8/10) mixed salad with chicken (8/10) hainanese chicken with sauce (8.5/10)

"The chicken noodle soup is absolutely delicious—the broth is exceptional! Pairing it with the fresh veggies they provide makes it even better. The duck is good too, but I personally prefer the one at Pho Tran. If you're looking for a break from beef pho, this place is a great alternative!"

Cơm Gà Houston is another bucket list place for Vietnamese cuisine in Houston, TX. The name says it all. Rice and chicken in Htown! This is a great place for lunch. The restaurant itself is humble appearing from the outside and simple but tidy and clean inside. You will notice right away that the service is quick and to the point. If you are indecisive with your choice of food, your server may move on and come back to you later. They are quick though, so you won’t wait long either way. From my experience, knowing a little or a lot of tiếng việt (Vietnamese language) comes in handy when ordering but just pointing at the number you want will work just as well. Fortunately, I know enough to get by even if I sometimes have to repeat myself a few times. I gotta get better with the tones. Great practice though! The food is very good and a great change of pace from some of the more common Vietnamese dishes to be found elsewhere. If you are coming here for the first time you have to get the cơm gà (chicken and rice). The chicken is room temp by design so don’t expect a hot dish but it’s great just like that. If I’m not mistaken cơm gà is the Vietnamese variation of Hainanese chicken and rice or very similar. It tastes great and is very filling as well. Another dish I had was the Bún Măng Vịt Gỏi Bắp Chuối (Duck with Banana Flower Salad). The Bún Măng Vịt was excellent! The duck meat was seasoned well, the bamboo shoots were tender and juicy and the broth was very good. The vermicelli noodles were filling and the fresh herbs made it taste really great. The banana flower salad was really tasty and a great highlight to an already delicious meal. The small bowl of broth that was brought with my food was also very tasty. I wanted more. To cap off the lunch, I had to order bánh xèo which is very large here. It had plenty of bean sprouts and shrimp. It was very crispy and I loved wrapping it in the greens and dipping it in nước chấm. I prefer the greener leaf (collared green?) over the lettuce to wrap the bánh xèo. Like I said before, in my opinion, Cơm Gà Houston should be on the bucket list of any Vietnamese food lover, whether an H town resident or not. Come try it for yourself!
